Imerys has reshaped its financial function, by creating a Shared Services Center (SSC) at a regional level. Within this scope, we are seeking accounting professionals to join the newly established SSC for Europe, based in Athens, Greece that provides
services and support to our legal entities within 14 European countries.

We are currently seeking to recruit an Senior General Ledger Accountant
Job Purpose
Ensure fiscal and accounting element integrity and documentation (account justifications, supporting documents) based on Local GAAP.
Ensure quality and consistency of accounting executive summaries produced (P&L, balance of payments, balance sheets, etc.).
Supervise month-end close
Analyze company financial state on a monthly basis, in collaboration with Controlling
Help define, draft, and update procedures, accounting rules and their terms for Germany, and guarantee they are respected and applied
Main Accountabilities
Accounting and financial activities
Perform period end financial close activities and meet all related deadlines
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub-ledger accounts
Administer all bank transactions
Monitor recording of newly-acquired assets, tracking of existing assets, depreciation, and accounting for asset disposal
Oversee intercompany activities (check consistency, collection and payment, accruals, reporting)
Guide operationally the less experienced team members
Assist in implementation of GL process improvement initiative
Candidate Profile
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
5 years of relevant experience
Experience with ERPs (experience with SAP will be a plus)
Fluent in English
Conversant in French, German, Italian or any other European language is a plus
Having worked in a SSC environment would be a key asset
Desirable
Experience of working within a culturally diverse global company
Experience in multinational companies and/or a SSC environment would be a key asset
Professional certifications in Accounting or ACA or ACCA would be considered a plus
