We are seeking a motivated and energetic Systems Engineer with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. We have a 100% “cloud” based infrastructure and seeking an engineer with strong experience in Infrastructure as Code, automation, CI/CD, Containers, AWS, and DevOps best practices to join our TechOps team!
Excellent communication skills are desired, as the TechOps team has developed a strong and close working relationship with both development owners and product owners to define clear expectations of objectives and fast, robust, and future proof results.
The ideal candidate has a very strong sense of ownership and passion for learning. This position will report directly Systems Engineer Manager, who will assist in grooming and assigning out work but will rely on the Engineer to provide documentation regular progress updates to the TechOps team and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
● Manage the availability, scalability, and efficiency of multiple infrastructure services running on Windows and Linux
● Challenge the limits of our existing infrastructure and design new solutions that keep us on the cutting edge of technology.
● Provide support for emergent problems, identify the root cause, and drive improvements through automation and self-healing services.
● Support network infrastructure including WAN, LAN, and wireless technologies.
● Coach other team members and assist in their development and learning.
● Provide clear and professional communication of ideas or feedback to Leadership and other internal team members.
● Handle Tier III escalations from the Sys Admins as needed.
● Be willing to learn new technologies and practices with excitement and high energy.
● Actively participate in team activities and discussions such as suggesting architecture improvements, best practices, new processes, etc.
● Perform on-call duty as needed.
● Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies
● 5+ years of experience supporting and engineering Windows and Linux/UNIX infrastructure.
● 3+ years of experience working with “cloud” technologies such as AWS or GCP.

● Strong understanding of IAC and experience using deployment/management tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, and Ansible.
● Familiarity with version control systems such as git.
● Experience with AWS (Specifically EC2, CS Fargate, RDS, VPC, S3, Route53, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, API Gateway, etc).
● Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo or Jenkins.
● Has implemented multiple complex production solutions and documented them thoroughly.
Preferred, Traits, Skills, and Competencies
● The ideal candidate is an autonomous self-starter that has a passion for learning paired with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
● Experience developing “cloud-native” applications.
● Experience “containerizing” legacy applications.
● Experience with Node.JS & React.
● Experience with C#, .Net 4.x, or .NET Core Development.
● Experience training and coaching junior team members.
● Strong documentation skills.
● Strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to come up with creative “outside the box” solutions in a cost-effective manner.
● Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
Education Requirements
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ years relevant work experience.
● AWS Solutions Architect – Associate Certification.
Compensation
The position is a salaried, exempt position.
